something to crow about..

The Australian Raven are commonly called crows and this one a regular visits the garden, cleaning up after Astro and his bone chewing sessions.

Today there was a canine/avian equivalent of High Noon with the well gnawed bone at the centre of the dispute. The 'big bird' was in full voice cawing and carrying on and at one point thought there must be next door's cat involved too as there was a mewing sound too.
Not so, 'big bird' had an amazing range of sounds and using them all in trying to protect its prize.
Astro decided a snooze in the sun was the go and eventually got his prize back..obviously a loafer not a fighter.

Oh and this is an adult raven. The juveniles don't have the white iris.
