Blackness .....

..... with a few highlights.

We visited my sister-in-law yesterday,and her dementia was worse than we'd feared.
She lives in a nursing home,so no worries about her being cared for. But her life is shrinking to the confines of her own mind,and it's a lot more difficult to communicate anything . She was pleased to see us,and to meet my daughter's partner for the first time. Then it was back to sleep,in her chair, in her room, in the home,the whole extent of her world now.

Black quartz - dark,but it sparkles in the right light. And my favourite stone,obsidian,formed in the burning fire of a volcano. Catch one type of obsidian in the right light and you'll see a rainbow hidden in it.
I'm sad today.
