Spring Unsprung

It was like summer last weekend in south Yorkshire but it's been grey in Edinburgh and there are pockets here and there which are still waiting for spring.

This view of the castle and Princes Street gardens looks more autumnal than vernal; the solitary, almost hidden, burst of pink blossom the only clue that spring is already here, just not very evenly distributed (to adapt @GreatDismal).
