Picnic Day
This is K from number 4 and she had just stopped to pick some peas from the community garden our garden and was about to mount her motorised chilly bin or esky or cooler depending where you live. It has a little petrol motor behind it. Her husband is a very inventive man. The weather forecast was wrong and instead of rain we had sunshine for our street Christmas picnic under the two big elm trees at the end of the access way before the track up the hill. We were socially distanced in the fresh air. T&S at number 18 are going to the North Island to have Christmas with their grandchildren and do not want to get Covid. Case numbers are rising again in New Zealand. This picnic was BYO so it was as fuss free as it could be. B came and she used to live at No 11 and some of us went to admire her former garden that D is keeping up. In the collage you can see A and B under the bougainvillea. I didn't get a picture of everyone but in the collage you can see K zooming along to the picnic spot and the forester sitting with A and her dad. A is very kind to Pam our frail neighbour and she walked home with her. We were all pleased Pam used her walker and got to the picnic. It was a pleasant few hours.
