Bad start...

.. to the day. By 9 o'clock both the washing machine and breadmaker were en panne. Now know what happens when you run the washing machine overnight with a pullover sleeve caught in the door (it tears the door seal out and fills the base of the machine with water and leaks onto the floor before cut out triggered).  Tipped the water out of the base and re-fitted the seal, but slight distorion on the seal means machine door now weeping.  Breadmaker died when started, but the noises  of the past few months presaged the failure and we had another which we had prepared earlier, so change over easy and we know we had the full life out of the old one.
