Coal Tit
The thaw is finally beginning, and I can’t wait until the pavements are clear and we can get out and about again. We desperately need some fresh air and exercise, but haven’t dared risk venturing out while everywhere was so icy.
Today was an exciting day on two fronts. Firstly, because I saw my first coal tit in the garden this winter, which really lifted my mood. Apologies to jophreeves who suffers from a little local bird envy I believe.
And secondly, it was exciting because The Traveller arrived home from sunny Malta for an extended stay. We did warn him what to expect, weather-wise, on arrival!
After the obligatory hug with his mother, he headed straight for the kitchen and devoured the meal that was awaiting him, made specially by Smithers. There was no grateful comment about the lemon cake and Nutty Joys sitting on the centre island, courtesy of his mother, but they too will no doubt be consumed with alacrity.
He’s back!
