Tiring day

Fletch slept soundly and ate a few pieces of chicken very hungrily but then turned his nose up at it.  As if his stomach hurts when he eats.
He looked  very sorry for himself and we got very worried.

I phoned to speak to our vet but she was out on calls so we made an appointment to see her in the afternoon.
The drive up took longer than usual as  there were road works. The traffic was moving but slowly as the flow was controlled by traffic lights. Luckily I'd checked on the Road Watch page and we left in early to arrive on time.

We had a long discussion about the " What ifs.." She gave him another antinflammatory  jab and another to stop the feeling of sickness plus some anti acid tablets .
She mentioned blood tests so I asked her to do them to see if it showed  anything. We were fearing the worst but  better to know sooner than later.

The jabs must have worked because when we got home Fletch went over to his food bowl and began to eat the food I'd left out for him. He also ate some chicken.  Properly eating since Sunday!
As we were celebrating  this, the vet phoned with the results.
All normal apart from slightly elevated white blood cells which indicated some infection.  But generally liver kidneys and pancreas all normal . It was such a relief.
It means another trip to the vets to get the antibiotics.. They would have posted them but with the strikes etc who knows when they would have arrived. We want him to have them as soon as possible.

Blip taken when we had a quick stop at Booths.  The Hoad hill at Ulverston catching the last rays of the sun.
