A place of rest
I've been helping a friend who had an operation recently and can not drive for 5-6 weeks. She is going stir crazy as she does enjoy going out. She had a couple of things to do today and needed a chauffeuse so I was volunteered. We had to go to her son's place to collect 'stuff' and then she wanted to take wreaths to her first husband who sadly died at 33 from a heart attack leaving her with two young children, and her parents. They are all resting at Mortehoe Cemetery with this glorious view towards Lundy island. Lundy was showing clear as a bell today as was the Welsh coast. Beautiful day - chilly but dry and crisp.
Whilst we were at the churchyard a fighter plane flew over twice. There was funeral at the church so we assume it must have been a serviceman/woman being honoured. The coffin was taken from the church to its final resting place on a delightful mobile bier - a first for both of us.
We had lunch out at a garden centre where some shopping took place - a
few more Christmas gifts ticked off.
The moon is just visible in the top right had corner...
A lovely day out...
