..it's growing..
Things are starting to take off now..
Starting on the left (out of shot) is a bed of Chard, we've had several pickings from it already. Up the left side is lettuce, pick and come again varieties, again, we've harvested quite a bit. The square beds on the left have trays of bedding plants, courgettes and pumpkins, and sunflowers, the furthest bed being beetroot, with more lettuce by the door. The shelf above the beds has trays of strawberries, many are now in flower and with fruit swelling.
On the right (out of shot) is blood veined sorrel, it will soon be big enough for a small harvest. The right hand bed has corriander, basil, then five patches of salad leaves, three of them sown today. I've planted four rows in a two foot wide bed, and then harvest a row at a time, a four foot length giving about a kilogram of leaves. I was getting short of seed for salad leaves, so ordered some from moles seeds in Essex, order was placed about 11 Friday morning, and arrived in the post today, Saturday, pretty good service. The four square beds are planted with tomatoes, cucumber, spinach, and carrots, with some orache by the door. The spinach is very slow, I think it's too warm and don't think I'll try it again in the tunnel.
There is a rack with three trays of marigolds, grown for the edible petals, and nasturtiums on the shelf above.
Then on the croft..
