Medieval tiles

I was in Winchester Cathedral this afternoon, singing in a small choir with Red Flash and 14 other singers, at a special service for people who have lost a child, Saying Goodbye. It turned out to be a very moving and emotional afternoon.

Afterwards I wandered quietly around the cathedral - there is an area which is covered in these medieval floor tiles. It doesn't feel right to walk on them, you automatically tread gently.
