Milecastle 29

One the way home today we decided to take the Military Road from Carlisle and try some snow scene photos.  The trees were remarkable, I could post a dozen pictures but this tree at Birdoswald was the best.  Just off to the right is Hadrian's Wall running east down to the River Irthing, the 'fighting' ditch is to the left (north) of it.
