"Marion"

This is a good friend who I see regularly around town, she is a seasoned bus traveller and knows all the bus timetables and their destination times. Her husband hasn't been well recently and she still buses to Lidl in Ashton for her weekly shop which again she knows the cost of to the nearest few pence.

We named her "purple Marion" many years ago because she loves the colour. Marion campaigned for months collecting signatures to make sure pensioners didn't lose their free bus pass. Our MP and local councillors eventually left the free bus passes as they were and local people had Marion and her group to thank for their persistence.

Marion and her husband used to go on holiday with my mum and dad to Benidorm. Sadly in recent years Marion's husband and mums health has prevented that but Marion tells me about the holidays they shared so I can talk about the good times they shared when I get home.
