They might look like woolly pom-poms but they are seeds hanging from a London plane.

‘Although called the London plane, nobody is quite sure where the tree is from’. This one is growing in the park in Windermere.

‘Appearing in autumn, the seeds stay on the tree over the winter, slowly breaking up to reveal the tiny fluffy seeds’.
