Grumpy Fairy

We received another of J’s grumpy fairies in the post and it is now on the tree with the others. I just love them. They are beautifully detailed and funny and poignant. J told me the idea behind them is people being forced to work for low wages, zero hour contracts and poor working conditions in order to provide services and goods for people who don’t see or who don’t care about what is behind their pleasure and consumption. The fairies are protesting. Makes me look at them and also all our other decorations in a different light.
