Scandinavian Visitor
We had 3" to 4" of snow overnight, but fortunately our central heating is now working perfectly after the condensate pipe was lagged, and the house is warm.
I was thrilled this morning to spot a redwing in the branches of our oak tree. Just the one. It won’t be long before they come en masse and devour all the berries on our ancient holly bush, which can be seen right in the centre of my photo. (The oak is to the left, behind the acer in the foreground.)
It never fails to amaze and impress me how birds can fly such huge distances in search of warmer climes, although I doubt they will find it very warm in the south of England at the moment!
