Lemon curd

Today I was at the annual show of the Dumfriesshire Federation of the SWRI (that's the Scottish Women's Rural Institute or 'The Rural' as it is known). There were some fabulous items on display, all kinds of crafts from knitting to flower arranging and a wonderful section of baking and jams. I have often given talks to Rural and the hardest part is judging the competitions afterwards, so I don't envy the judges who had to taste all these jars of lemon curd and choose the winners.. time and time again at this show, I heard women lamenting that Rural can't attract young women members and that craft skills are not being passed on to the next generation. I wonder if that's really the case?
