Druid

The reindeer came to Strathaven today!  We had to bob along to see them as they were only down the road.  This is Druid who was looking very fine and actually looking up as opposed to the other reindeer who were all busy with their bowls of lichen.  One of the herders there was one of the same who took us up the hill back in September, we had a catch up about calves and stuff.  In recent years the Cairngorm herd has been doing fewer Christmas events, partly because they aren't as reliant as much on the funds anymore, but there's also been a bit of a backlash from some animal rights groups.  To be fair to the groups, most reindeer in the UK are kepy poorly and in conditions that aren't suitable, but that cannot be said of the Cairngorm reindeer who are in the best possible conidtions for reindeer in the UK and are superbly well looked after by people who understand their needs.  The herder today said that the small team here would be back out on the hills tonight.  It really is a joy to see them.

After reindeer we did lunch and some last bits of shopping at a farm shop then filled up the car.  Only mentioning this because it was the first time in a long time that fuel cost less than £1.50 a litre.

Took a walk in the afternoon and played around with the focus stacking and  a snowy Tinto, haven't quite got it yet but getting there...
