Snow!
We all woke up to the soft glow and whisper of snowfall.
The boys were keen to get out in it, after a small breakfast. So we went into the back garden and made a tiny snowman, before having a great snowball fight.
After that it was time for hot chocolate, more breakfast and some time with toys and TV. Josh and Ruth had to shovel and grit a safe pathway down their own street before being able to get to our house. By then I was making pancakes, which we shared before they all eventually slipped and slithered back to the car and home. Their house is near a steep park that's ideal for sledging, so that was their plan for the afternoon.
I hadn't slept very well; I always find it hard to switch off when the grandkids stay over - the habit of listening out for them, as babies, hasn't really worn off yet. So the afternoon was a quiet one.
And maybe it's best that this habit doesn't wear off quite yet.... We have lovely news: Marianna's expecting a baby. This is most unexpected, as I had thought they were not planning a second child. Marianna has just had her 12 week scan, so they're ready to go public. Frieda and the boys are excited, and so are we.
