Mostly Lifeless
……………………….on the Quay Walls in Berwick.
Slept late this morning and woke to wetness rather than the forecast whiteness. Up, dressed and something to eat then drove over to Tweedmouth and walked over to meet MC and the wee one for a spot of lunch before heading up to town to see the Christmas market. The thaw hadn’t quite reached the riverside and it made very slushy walking…and will be lethal if it freezes tonight!
We lunched at the Youth Hostel where Daddy was doing the cooking…sadly new management have decreed a generic menu so no warming homemade soup as all their soups now contain gluten. I had loaded nachos instead. It was very busy at the market, I bought a couple of clay Christmas trees but we didn’t linger.
Once home I took a walk along the prom to deliver a card to someone. It was a very pleasant winters afternoon until halfway home when the sky unleashed a hailstorm! In for the evening now…about to put a potato in the oven to bake whilst I sort a few boxes then it’s an evening of Strictly.
Extra…the leaning youth hostel of Berwick upon Tweed. It’s housed in an old granary building just inside the Quay Walls and the quaint, cobbled lane runs down from Bridge Street.
Thanks to Marlieske for hosting Derelict Sunday.
