Stour Singers

Saturday evening, England on the tele, but true love means that I’m watching Jayne sing with the choir at St. Edmunds church in Shipston.

Two concerts a year, one in May and the other in December. Planned long before any football game. So this where I found myself.

Unfortunately the church was only half full as a consequence of that football match and the cold weather.

The performances include a small group of young musicians from the Birmingham Conservatoire and also soloists including last night a soprano, countertenor, tenor, and two bass baritones.

Excellent performance as usual and we had some Christmas carols too, very festive. The music could be regarded as high brow by some, Teleman’s ‘Magnificat’ and Haydn’s ‘St.Nicholas Mass’.

I’m putting Saturday’s blip on today, Sunday, and it’s just stopped snowing outside.

Take care if you have to go out anywhere and many, many thanks, as always for the stars, hearts, and kind comments. Have a wonderful week. x
