Jet Plane

Just outside of Netherley in Aberdeenshire is a company called Alba Power. In their grounds adjacent to the main road is a jet plane.

The Plane is a Hunter MK1 N315 which was sold to the Dutch Airforce in 1955, where it was maintained at Schipol Airport as a training Jet.

After a fire in 1970, the plane was sold as scrap and returned to Alba Power in 2010 where it has been lovingly restored and was marked in its original Dutch Airforce colours.

It's a strange sight as you drive in the Aberdeenshire countryside to see a jet plane at the side of the road. It was great being able to read the story of this plane, and the efforts that were taken to bring her home and restore her to her former glory.
