Childhood Ailments

When you are a child toothache, like earache, is one of those pains that defies home remedies and it doesn’t get any easier as an adult.
Up to 2019 I religiously went to the dentist every six months for a check up, paid whatever was necessary including dental hygienist visits which do not come cheap.
Then came the pandemic, who knew that one of COVID’s side effects would be to cause a national shortage of dentists.
We stuck with the practise; 2020 I lost a filling; “sorry but as you are not in pain and we only have a locum carrying out limited hours we cannot offer treatment”. 2021 I lost part of a molar, still no pain - still no treatment. Then in July 2022 the molar started to give pain, and I got an appointment, it’s next week!! The toothache today was worse than normal, debilitating, ruined the day - almost.

Mrs S and I headed off to the Cash ‘n’ Carry for logs, fortunately Mrs S had emptied her van, enough logs and the new ‘coal’ to go through to January hopefully. That will depend on how many logs Paddy takes from the basket to chew!!
