Thugs

Today we went to one of my favourite places, Yorkshire Sculpture Park.

500 acres of woods and parkland full of superb sculpture. Not many places where you can sit on the grass with a coffee next to a Henry Moore, then stroll through the trees and have a picnic surrounded by a few million pounds worth of Barbara Hepworth bronzes.

This shot is Elizabeth Frinks Riace bronzes. They are based on Greek warrior statues that she described as being "very beautiful, but also very sinister... these were warriors who would go out and fight your battles for you, mercenaries... in other words they were thugs"

Cool thugs though :)
