Long-tailed Ducks

Known locally as Calloo but I don't think that is peculiar to Shetland as I think it is known as that through-out Scotland. The Westvoe and/or Gruntess beaches at the south end of Shetland are always good places to see them in the winter.

Local bird book describes them as "Common winter visitor with a few usually remaining until June"
