On the way home I took a detour to Liverpool to see Úrsula ( my son’s German grandmother) .
She is like family to me as well , even though we are not related.
The blip is of a pretty Christmas decoration on her windowsill.
Úrsula made a delicious spicy vegetable soup for lunch which was ideal for the wintery weather . I also met her friend Linda , who had travelled from Widnes for lunch .
Before I headed home Maurice arrived from Zurich - he is another of Ursula’s grandson’s , and is the same age as my own son Laurence. He is a lovely young man.
The drive home up the M6 was longer than I’d expected. But I did miss the worst of the bad weather - hail , snow and heavy rain.
Cassie , my cat , was very happy to have me back - after a 5 minute huff - then she was beside me the rest of the night . I do miss her terribly when I go away. But she was well looked after by a cat sitter and friends popping in to fuss over her.
Hoping you have a lovely weekend x
