Christmas Cheer

Today was the classmates monthly lunch which we had at my friend Pat's home.  She went all out with a great meal of ham, sweet potato casserole, baked mac and cheese (southern style ya"ll!!!), crack string beans (a delicious concoction of soy and brown sugar on top of the string beans which is then baked in the oven until it carmelizes, topped with crispy pieces of bacon!!! Yum! ) And home made yeast rolls!!     I could have eaten the whole pan.   Needless to say I got the recipe for the string beans from her.    For dessert we had pumpkin roll.  

We all brought a hand towel rolled up and tied with a ribbon which is in this basket.  After eating we had to pull a towel from the basket but have our eyes shut!    It was a hoot when someone would pull their own towel and had to try again.    I got a great little hand towel for use in the bathroom.   

In the extra is a photo I managed of our group of ladies.  I love these women who have been in my life since high school!    

Looking forward to Monday evening when I have a supper planned with some of my long time friends from my former work place.
