Flicker with Red Shafts!

A Northern Flicker (Colaptes auratus), western subspecies with red shafts wonderfully displayed. Taken near Morro Bay, CA on a trip of over two weeks (as I recall).

Backdated on 2013-5-10, on the occasion of posting this eastern flicker from the Amherst Rail Trail (just a sliver of a yellow shaft shows through the tail). Here's a western, though the red shafts don't show.
