Tui

Check out that tongue!!  Perfect for this nectar-loving beauty.  I spent the morning stalking tui's as they drank themselves giddy on the plentiful supplies of flax nectar, then I headed around the coastal area to see what was around.  It actually felt like summer - perfect for being out and about and very unlike the weather we've had for most of spring.  Back to the cafe for a spot of lunch, then more meandering and tui hunting plus a spot of kite-surf watching before heading home late afternoon.  A short, sharp 30-hour break that felt like soooooo much longer.  Love it!
