Hard Frost

Our first hard frost of the winter has finished off the Dahlias and Impatiens which have been brilliant all summer and autumn. The garden and the cars have remained frozen up all day and with another night 0f -3C forecast the cold is starting to penetrate into the greenhouses and tunnels.

We have had to drain down the irrigation system around the nursery to prevent any further damage. The exposed pipes in the tunnel that is being re-sheeted have froze up and burst and one of the valves has blown in the Six Bay.

Peters neighbour Roy rang today and we have located Peter. He has been sent to a different hospice than the one that was organised and is in a bad way.

As with so much in life the pic looks better large.

A cold but nice and sunny day.
