Garden
My husband woke in the night to the sound of running water, not rain. When it was light, he went down to the water meter and saw it was turning rather quickly so he turned off the water. Although a bank holiday today, our second this week, he managed to track down the local maintenance guy who came round quite promptly and went up on our roof. A surge of water through the pipes had caused the pipe of our balcony tap to separate, hence the water. He rejoined it and will do a replacement job when we return in February. He also looked at our roof while he was up there and we have a crack in the concrete underneath the tiles, which caused the water leak yesterday. This is a community issue and will be covered by insurance, another job to do on our return. We will move the table when we leave in case there is another heavy downpour but they are rare events.
After 14 years living here and being completely detached, we have neighbours downstairs but they come very infrequently as their main home is in Hermigua in the North of the island. They had a gardener visit last Friday with a load of succulent plants and my image shows a quarter of the plants in the back garden. The lady of the house directed where everything had to be planted with her walking stick, she was very particular.
We braved another swim today, the water is rather cool as there is another pump issue.
