Tribute to Mabli

More than 8 yrs…… exceeding the three score and ten for large dogs…… we waved a sad goodbye today……. but we will remember you.
We took you in because we thought we couldn’t have any more kids ……. only to find Catherine pregnant with Nesta 6 weeks later.
We will remember your appetite for outdoor cedar furniture and your ability to transform a young apple tree - the centerpiece of the rear deck - into a blackened shriveled silhouette as if struck by divine lightning.
We will cherish your unquestioned affection, your love of swimming, your strange trot and pooh routine and your sleeping on the sofa.
We will remember how we could hear you crying in the cargo hold of the 737 that flew us to Victoria and how you would always bark at Steve.
We will laugh on recalling all the crazy things we did together as a family with you.
For now, this and the two cats, will be enough.
