HMS Daring Type 45 Destroyer

During her sea trials and prior to her fitting-out, HMS Daring is visiting Liverpool for four days and is open to the public for two days. Together with five new Type 45 Destroyers they will form the backbone of the Surface Fleet of the modern Royal Navy. The Daring; yet to be fully fitted and handed over, officially, to the Royal Navy is the most sophisticated ship of its type in the world. HMS Daring's main weapons system is the Sea Viper Missile and she will be capable of being deployed in many different arenas. She can be configured to operate Lynx and Merlin Helicopters; she has the ability to drop torpedoes and her helicopters can carry depth chargers and Sea Squa anti-ship missiles. This truly is a warship of immense importance to future defence and security operations.
