In November weather
It was a slow drive into Lerwick first thing, the van being buffeted by the wind. Janet had to be at the hospital at 8am and thought she was near the top of the list for today's operations. Hopefully not too much waiting around.
It was cold, wet and not really a day to be out, but I didn't fancy returning straight home to the empty cottage. The shops were cheery, with Christmas stock and decorations, so it was nice to have a wander round. It's always good to be back in Lerwick, even in a flying gale.
This poem seemed rather appropriate today.
Many Shetland public toilets have poems displayed on the back of the toilet doors. It was an idea started by Shetland library in 2009 as a partnership project with the Scottish Poetry Library and Shetland Arts and has continued since then with different themes being introduced every year or so.
