Fabulous fun!

Oh yes it was!
A bright, sunny day but eye wateringly cold on my walk up to Pilates in the village this morning.

A coffee and a bite to eat after which we we were off for the bus to Bingley and the train to Leeds, arriving at 3.00pm.

A good couple of hours to look around, have a cuppa and purchase a replacement pudding bowl in John Lewis. ( Had a breakage earlier this week)

Can’t say it was particularly busy anywhere and although the decorations were nice there was nothing new, which is a good thing really.

We normally go to this amazing Rock and Roll pantomime, Dick Whittington this time,  at the City Varieties in early January and I have had it booked pretty much since then, but then came the train strike announcements hitting our original booking date, so I asked if I could change our tickets. No problem.

We had a pleasant meal and a drink in the White Swan next door before the big event. I’ve been in village pantos over many years and always thought they were the best rather than the professional ones, but these guys are something else. As you can see as well as acting they all sing and all play instruments. So talented and above all so funny.
We were on the fourth row of the stalls so, of course, we got soaked by the water guns in the second half, all part of the fun.

They have an encore at the end and you are encouraged to stand, sing and take photos or videos to help promote the show if you wish, so this is when I took my blip. ( Not sure it’s the best one but it shows the most characters)

They are already taking bookings for next year and although there is no announcement of what Panto it will be yet we shall definitely be going.
Oh yes we will!
If you live near Leeds give it a go, it’s not that expensive either, certainly not normal theatre prices.

It’s one of our most fun nights of the year. Where’s that booking form?
