A thin layer of ice on the pond in Maxwell Park ….

…… strong enough to bear the weight of the Black-headed Gulls but certainly not thick enough for me to stand on.

It was a beautiful morning ….. frosty and very chilly but sun shining in a cloudless blue sky made it an almost perfect winter’s day.  Once the sun disappeared in the early afternoon the temperature dropped by quite a few degrees.
