Le Macee

A small hamlet on the drained flood plain of the Arno opposite Bibbiena.

I wondered what ‘Le macee’ might be: possibly ‘ruins’.

It was a wet day.

Had to add the extra. I couldn’t remember the other day if aspen (populus tremulo) grew in the Casentino. They do, of course. Two v large ones here on extreme right of shot down by the Arno.
