So it was decided that, as an energy saving device, we'd only have candles to light the stairs and Nico put a sign up by the front door which said 'pas d'entrée si vous n'apportez pas une bûche'  Weirdly everyone obeyed and staggered up the stairs in the dark with logs in their arms. 
Then didn't stagger back down until 4 a.m
