Surprise!

Made it to church no problem... realised something special had happened as the place was decorated with drapes and flowers AND the Pastor was wearing a long sleeved white shirt and tie!!

It is Ascension and the service was all about it. It ran like a normal service; ended at the normal time, and THEN, we were all asked to wait a bit longer as this very unique young couple, wanted to get married in the context of a normal worship service!! They came in at the end, all dressed up and took their vows in front of the whole congregation! Rami and Oxana from Syria and Ukraine - typical Dubai - this is the most unique thing I've seen in a very long time!! They provided special refreshments for everyone at the end but we didn't stay.

Went to watch a movie instead - The Big Wedding - stupid and forgettable - can't believe Diane Keaton is in it. Had a crepe and popcorn for lunch - BAD but nice!
