Plane Spotting

This little Cessna (I think) (no, it's a Piper Warrior, I have been reliably informed) is sitting on the apron at the airport on Barra in the Outer Hebrides. The airport has one scheduled flight daily to/from Glasgow and is operational when the tide is out. The Glasgow plane is a twin otter, so this Cessna is just a pleasure craft.

It is the only beach runway in the world apparently. The sign on the beach asks that you stay off the beach when the wind sock is up as this means the airport is active.

Oh, and look at that blue sky again! Our last night included an outdoor BBQ at the campsite with some fresh langoustines and monkfish from the local fish processing plant.
