A VERY manky ball
I haven't found any manky old balls for a while, but today I found the mankiest one ever. It was so disgusting; it wasn't even a whole ball because some other doggie had chewed massive chunks out of it. I didn't care. I found it about an hour into our big, long, walk, so I had to carry it for the next two and a half hours, because no way was, I going to abandon it. We walked for 10.73 miles and a lot of our walk went along beside the Waters of Leith, so I had loads of off lead run about time. This is a Blip of me by the river in Dean Village.
The good thing (as far as Ann is concerned) about me finding and carrying home manky old balls is......................... I never, ever do 'silly puppy jumping up' at people when I have a ball in my mouth. Today, my tummy and paws were extremely muddy. It wasn't as if I'd been wallowing in mud or doing anything naughty. It was just a really muddy walk and Ann had very muddy feet as well. However it was extremely busy on the section of walk between Stockbridge and Dean Village and loads of people commented on what a cute little collie pup I was, so Ann was very pleased that I was carrying a ball. She's pretty sure if I hadn't had a ball in my mouth I would have been 'jumping up' at everyone who told me I was cute?!
After such a long walk, when we got home, I gobbled up my breakfast (that I hadn't eaten earlier) and went straight into my little bed for a snooze. Ann had some soup and then went straight onto the sofa for a snooze. Lol! Usually when I bring a manky old ball home, I lie guarding it for half an hour. I was too tired to do that today because carrying a ball for two and a half hours is very exhausting. I bet you couldn't carry a ball in your mouth for two and a half hours??!!
Oh, and if anyone is interested.......................... guess what Ann is going to do with all my manky old balls soon?................. She's going to wash them and then I have to donate them to the 'Edinburgh dog & cat home' so that the little doggies who don't have such a nice home as I do, will at least get a pressie this Christmas. She's knitted some blankets for them as well. Apparently, they're really struggling because their energy bills are so high. And it would seem that a lot of people are abandoning their pets because they can't afford to keep them. That is so, so, sad. Fortunately, my human can afford to keep me, and I know that she's already bought me a load of Christmas pressies because I saw her hiding them!! she's promised me that she'll never abandon me. I know that I am a very, very, lucky little collie pup!
PS – My human had a plan to start writing her Christmas Cards this afternoon, but that hasn't happened because she's been snoozing and catching up on two hours of EastEnders. However, she's just been reading on her Google newsfeed that the last posting date for 2nd class Christmas cards is 12th December. Seriously? That's only a week away. A couple of years ago, she decided to stop sending cards and she donated £50 to the rescue centre that she'd got me from. So many of her friends complained that they hadn't had a card from her, that she's back to sending cards again. ….......................And remember that you need to use up all your old stamps too.
