Christmas Tree Central

I was out with the guys from SSE today, looking at the work they are doing on preparation for the Beauly-Denny Power line. They drove us in to the site of what will be a massive new substation up behind Braco. The old, smaller substation down nearer the village will be removed. The new one is up in an area of commercial woodland and is unlikely to be seen by many folk and certainly not from the road or village. It was quite a long drive in.

Part of the drive goes through a big Christmas Tree farm. Well, they have to come from somewhere!! We drove past fields of baby Christmas trees at various stages of growth. These were about 3/4 feet high. I felt there should have been strings of fairy lights wound through them. Despite a careful search, I couldn't see any elves. Shame. The farmer's missing a trick there!!
