Fishing

As I sat beside the Tweed at Kelso this morning I watched a man casting his line (seen in large) from a boat while his ghillie stood in the shallow water tightly holding the boat to stop it floating downstream. There must have been quite a strong current because when he climbed into the boat it quickly drifted downstream and he had difficulty trying to row back upstream. I didn't see him catch anything but I think he was probably fishing for salmon on what is one of the best salmon fishing rivers in the world.
The Tweed is the second longest river in Scotland and after the first 75 miles in Scotland it is forms the border with England for 19 miles before flowing entirely in England for the last 4 miles to reach the sea at Berwick on Tweed.
