where did the woods go?

I know the "woodsy" area Laney and I used to walk through was a fire hazard (not to mention a haven for the homeless, and one time an abandoned car with a felon passed out inside), but it is hard to see it so barren. 
I'm hoping that in the spring there will be wild flowers and a lovely view of the mountains.
