Block Printing
This morning's walk was a circular route from Henley to Lower Shiplake via Harpsden and Peveril woods then back along the towpath beside the river Thames. Opposite the church at Harpsden Court Farm there are two buildings where the gable ends have been faced with more than a hundred of these huge hand carved wooden blocks. Apparently they were originally used for printing wallpaper at a workshop in London.
