Birthday weekend treat in Cambridge Arrived early so time to explore Cambridge on my own ….so headed to the Scott Polar Institute…which contains a small museum.
It contains real Polar treasure from different expeditions ……the special item for me today was seeing Captain Oates ‘s reindeer sleeping bag ….very moving .
I am standing in front of a replica of The James Caird …..the boat Shackleton sailed through the storms ,across the Weddell sea to South Georgia …..part of that Amazing story .
Then on to Fitzbillies for Chelsea bun French toast !!
