The journey

I drove to Aberdeen today to attend the funeral of SNP MSP Brian Adam.

My enduring memories of Brian are invariably from the various by-election campaign rooms I have staffed. A committed campaigner for our Party and our cause in his native Aberdeen he was also a regular at by-election campaigns out with his beloved granite city. His cheery presence will be sorely missed.

The service was sad and inspiring. I was sad for those he has left behind and know how keenly they will feel his passing. I was inspired hearing more about a man who didn't just talk the talk but walked the walk. As someone said, "If politics had more men like Brian, it wouldn't have such a bad name."
