Bread Making by Candlelight

Actually - led hurricane light to be more accurate. Power went off about 9.20. Not due back on till 4pm. We had been warned. Apparently it is to put some of the power lines underground so that more space can be made for the cemetery. There is a shortage of lairs (graves) available on the island. Fingers crossed more care is taken when digging the new ones than is taken for digging the ground works for house building. There have been a few ‘shocking’ surprises to date.

At times like these am very grateful that we have a gas cooker, multi fuel stove, our lamps, a power bank for phone charging … and plenty of tolerance for gluten.
