The Pentagon 911 Memorial

We had incredible, wicked skies today, especially this evening, as a storm front blew over. I was in Arlington, Virginia, visiting the 911 Memorial at the Pentagon when the sky suddenly turned black. It was so ominous. While I was shooting I heard loud booming, like canon fire. I have no clue about the source, but it scared me enough to jog back to the car. 
On the way home the sunset was a showstopper! The extras are of a rainbow and the sunset clouds over a neighbor's farmhouse. 
It was a bit of a proud moment for me to read that Southern Maryland and Charles County has been chosen by Condé Nast as one of America's top places to visit in 2023.
