How to avoid window tax....
A busy St Andrew's day.
Once everything was fed, headed next door to bring in the 30 calved heifers and their calves. The calves got their pneumonia vaccine, backs clipped and a wormer dose. The cows got their freeze brand numbers clipped. The blonde bull just watched.
By that time it was 1.30 pm , so rounded up the 2 herds to give a hand bringing them the mile along the road to their shed here for the winter.
By the time that was done ,and a quick coffee, Stevie arrived to PD the spring calving cows we weaned yesterday. Luckily they are all showing in calf, anywhere between 6 weeks to 5 months in calf. Fingers crossed they all stay in calf.
Still noisy tonight as their weaned calves are still missing their mum's,but another day or three they will be fine..
Dougie was in at lunch time to take the window out of what was my bedroom as a boy. He's taking it to a pal who makes double glazed windows as it is well rotten and the estate factor has told me to get it fixed.
More expense, but hopefully a new window will help keep the expensive heat in....
