The heavy rain brought down another section of
this too-high terrace retaining wall in the garden. I suspect that at some time and for. aesthetic reasons the height of the terrace was raised with brought-in topsoil
Here’s hoping the rest of the wall keeps up And the unsupported soil stays in place by magic.
All of Italy is a land slip risk with its steep slopes, fractured friable rocks and torrential autumnal downpours. As the terrible events on Ischia demonstrated. Every parish has detailed maps showing the location of local flooding and landslip risks but the violence of summer and autumnal storms are creating new areas areas of critical risk ( or so I would imagine)
